The Phoenix

Astronaut Ed Tyler is captured by the alien Deiei after he flees an exploding Space Shuttle. He escapes by donning an alien uniform and taking atomic transistors. He battles the alien Deiei who are intent on destroying the Earth.

Professor Death

Professor Hannibal Burns was conducting experiments with a nerve gas known as DETHX-13. A beaker of DETHX-13 and another highly volatile compound were accidentally knocked to the ground, resulting in an explosion. Burns survived, but was changed both physically and mentally.

The Protector

Formerly known as the Phoenix, Ed Tyler is transformed by the Protectors, who are responsible for sending the Deiei to earth. Mankind is given one chance for redemption, the result to rest solely on the shoulders of one earthman, Ed Tyler, the Protector.
