I know that Movie Monsters was and still is essentionally a rip off of Famous Monsters of Filmland but how do they stand up against FMoFL?

Is Gothic Romances and My Secert really any good?

The only reason Gothic Romances is of any interest to a comic book collector is the artwork by Neal Adams, Russ Heath, Howard Chaykin, and Ernie Colon. My Secret has no comic book content at all (yet it is listed in Overstreet). Both these magazines are coveted due to scarcity rather than content. Everyone wants a copy of Gothic Romances to complete their Atlas-Seaboard collection. While My Secret is a Seaboard publication, it should not be included in order to have a complete Atlas-Seaboard collection.

Last time I saw a copy of Gothic Romances on fleabay, it was well over 100 bucks even with the auction a few days away...at least for the artwork, I'd like to have a reprint, if not the original.

Yes. The only reason is this - as many different company names as Martin Goodman had over the years, this is the only other publication that has the Seaboard Periodicals name in it. So, if you want to complete all their comics, you don't need to get this, but if you want to add one more issue and complete everything they published, there it is.

The only data we've received on it is from comic dealers. Though we firmly suspect it's worth much more, the Guide price can't be raised unless we have data to support it. In recent years it's been tagged as having three known copies. I personally expect there are more than that, but who knows?
