According to THE COMIC READER, the next batch of comics that Atlas was ready to publish before the axe fell included BARBARIANS #2, THE COUGAR #3, HANDS OF THE DRAGON #2 and PLANET OF VAMPIRES #4. These were scheduled to come out June 17, 1975. I imagine the art was probably complete and they were ready to be sent to the printer. Tragic that this didn't happen. In particular, the dangling storyline from the previous issue of POV was a real cliffhanger. Would have loved another COUGAR, too. I hope the art still exists and there is a possibility that these could be released a mere 36 years late.

Here a link to the site that lists all the issues that were announced but never published. In addition to the 4 that Marshall mentioned, there are 6 other issues that never made it to the newstand.

Announced but never published

Sadly, the first meeting of Atlas characters was to take place in Man-Monster #1. Here is the color guide to that issue.

Makes you wonder what happened to all the original art. :huh

Good question.... I'll check my Comic Reader's to see what the story is behind WONDERWORLD.

According to Jeff Rovin (How not to run a comic book company) -

Bill DuBay's Wonderworld was to be aborted in the formative stage because serious adventure comics about kids didn't sell. (Of course not: that's because there weren't any serious adventure comics about kids.)

I'm guessing that it never reached the stage where it was put on the schedule.

The Comic Reader also mentions a title called the The Time Machine (story by John Albano, art by Dan Adkins).

WONDERWORLD was a kids' adventure comic? I thought it was supposed to be a "Black humor" title. Although the cover mock-up never conveyed that impression.

Marshall -

You might be thinking of Midnight Madness.

From the Comic Reader - Midnight Madness (#1 March 1975) This is a black humor magazine, and features a satire of the Night Stalker. Cover is by Tom Sutton. (12/31)

I would love to read all of those, Planet of Vampires #4 especially.
