So you may have noticed that Atlas struggles to get books on the shelves...

I admit that it took me a while to warm up to digital versions of books. I still get the print for my "must haves" but I'm getting used to digital versions on graphicly or comixology more and more. And there are plenty of indy publishers using those methods, but that I know of, Atlas is not one of them.

I don't know the plusses and minuses from a publisher's standpoint which is why I ask whether it's an option, if not why not, if yes, why is it not being done?

Sorry if it's a beaten path, but I haven't come across a topic specific to this in my time here, and my increased appreciation for the format makes me wish Atlas would consider it (if they aren't).

Hiya Captain,

If I may be allowed to speak on the subject of digital-- and ya know me-- I would anyway...

Love it...

It gives people who aren't real comic book collectors access to cool stories... and what they spend for their digital versions supplies money to producers to keep printing paper copies for those of us who ARE comic book collectors, when the print medium just isn't making them enough money to operate anymore.

I, too, have noticed ATLAS' absence from the Comixology site. I spoke with Jason about it on one occasion, and although Jason and I are kind of butting heads at the moment, the only reason they aren't there is lack of time on his behalf AND his administrators. When it comes to making good comics, just from the stuff we have seen so far, we know Jason knows how to make a good comic.

Just God willing the time in his life to do so. The man has talent and I want to see more of it no matter how long I have to wait. What am I doing anyway?

Now, the best thing we can do is continue to heckle the man relentlessly. A man needs his motivation.

See ya, Daedjo

Just throwing it out there, but has anyone else used the New Crusaders app?
Get 6-8 pages out digitally each week, access to the old archives, and a print version a few months later.
That seems like a pretty good model to me (and yes, I do get the New Crusaders :)).
This could appease fans looking for new material, as well as the old out-of-print stuff (yes please :)).
This way, you could get a digital anthology (this month's issue is Phoenix #7, next month's is Wulf #7, etc), then you could solicit the hard copies in bunches.

Just a thought ;)

Digital comics are low to no cost as far as creation and distribution. I create both print and digital copies of the Terrorklowns and Wave books I work on for all app platforms such as Kindle, Nook, etc. The Wave: Twilight Of The Gods Primer is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other digital book distributors at a fraction of the cost of the print version and Terrorklowns is available at Graphicly. Most if not all of the digital distributors require that you provide them with a printable PDF version of the book so that the consumer can print his own physical copy as well should he choose to do so. If you are a publisher of any genre you should explore the digital distribution option.

I use the New Crusaders app and I love it, great idea, also will happily buy the print additions - the series itself has been quite good so far too
